 ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITY UI - Fall 2000

Development of a communication device to facilitate the interaction and the building of a community in an assisted living community.

 
 
1. Understanding our audience:

> Target audience: Elder people (65 + years)

> Library research: understanding elder's social patterns, relation with technology, illnesses, etc.

> Interviews: Questionnaire o understand their relationship with their family, neighbors and friends, social environment, etc.

> Visit to RadioShack in a neighborhood where the main population is composed by elder. Many of the phones were targeted to elder people, with bigger buttons, pictures, etc.
